Project Tango Vote Postponed Until July 15th, 2026! Update! 📢📢

What is Project Tango?

Project Tango is a $2.6 Billion dollar AI Data Center to be built in Western Palm Beach County at 20125 Southern Blvd, Loxahatchee, FL 33470. The proposed project will encompass nearly 200 acres of land and consist of 4 Million square feet of buildings, some of which will be over 7 stories tall, and will contain over 600 industrial cooling fans .

Not only is this AI Data Center a threat to the health, well being, and safety of the hard working, tax paying residents of Palm Beach County and their families and children, it becomes a more extreme problem due to the fact that it will be constructed within 1200 feet of Saddle View Elementary School and the preexisting Arden community and neighborhood.

AI Data Centers built in the wrong area are detrimental to human health, environmental health, and economic health.

Important Urgent Update!

There is now a second application that has been submitted on the same property.

WPB Logistics (TPA Group- Atlanta, GA), one of the two parties behind Project Tango has submitted a proposal to turn their warehouse space into 1.7 million square feet of data center space.

Currently, the decision falls under “administrative approval” meaning, it does not need to go before the board of County Commissioners to be voted on.

According to the Palm Beach County Zoning website:

“Palm Beach County Zoning has two applications under review for the Central Park Commerce Center Development.  One application is a Public Hearing request that requires a decision by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) and the second application is an Administrative request that is reviewed and approved by Staff but is contingent on the decision of the first application by the BCC.”

The second application is contingent on Project Tango being approved. If it does get approved, the second data center decision will be made by county staff. If Project Tango does not get approved, the second application becomes obsolete.

The second proposal, submitted by WPB Logistics, is much worse than Project Tango.

In addition to another heavy industrial operation next to an elementary school and neighborhood, this proposal includes a full evaporative cooling system as well as diesel generators as back up power.

Here is a great article by Joel Engelhardt of Stet News, breaking down the new application.

As much distrust as there is with the developers of Project Tango, they did make efforts to scale back the size of the project and attempt to move it further away from Saddle View Elementary. I am still in complete opposition of Project Tango, but to make those attempts and then have your business partner turn around and stomp on them is… an interesting choice. The second data center would be closer to Saddle View Elementary than Project Tango would be.

This is a slap in the face to all of the residents that have been fighting so hard against having a hyperscale AI Data center in their back yard. It’s another perfect example of the greed that runs Florida and how out of state developers (and in state) could care less about how their projects impact local residents or the environment.

We have to continue fighting hard to stop Project Tango.

If it gets passed, this second data center is coming as well.

That will open the door for every single empty warehouse in Palm Beach County to be turned into a data center.

There will be a zoning hearing pertaining to the second application on July 2nd, 2026.
Show up, make your voices heard, and fight for your community!
